Casino Royale In Consideration For Visual Effects Oscar
Nominations to be announced on 23 January

Coming Soon reports that Casino Royale is among the list of films in consideration for a Visual Effects Oscar nomination.
The newest James Bond film will be included with the following films vying for the nominations: Eragon, Night at the Museum, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Poseidon, Superman Returns, and X-Men: The Last Stand.
On 17 January, the Academy’s Visual Effects Award nominating committee will view 15-minute film excerpts from each of the seven shortlisted films. Following the screenings, members will vote to nominate three films for Oscar consideration. The nominations will be announced on 23 January at 5:30am PST in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
