Casino Royale Remains #1 In UK

Has grossed more in the country than any other James Bond film

Reuters reports that James Bond simply cannot be beaten when it comes to the UK box office. Casino Royale has remained at the #1 spot in the country for the third straight week.

Earning £5.3 million (about $10.5 million) in its third week, Daniel Craig’s debut film as 007 has now grossed over £37 million ($70 milllion+) in the country, more than the take of any previous James Bond film.

However, Happy Feet’s penguins (which took the #1 spot for the opening weekend battle with Bond in the US) will finally be moving in on Casino Royale’s success in the UK this week, when the film opens on Friday.
