Measure for Measure
A thrilling collection of James Bond short stories from CBn’s fan fiction contest
Written by Devin Zydel on 01 Jun, 2005

Where was the light coming from? Bright, hot light. Death in the night. Last night, was it? No, the night before. Just another assignment. A target, Bond had cornered. The target, sweating, teeth bared, turning before Bond’s eyes into an animal, something wild, predatory, scared. And cornered. The glint of a knife.
– Excerpt from Andrew Charles Hixson’s ‘The Rough with The Smooth’ – featured in Measure for Measure
CommanderBond.net is proud to once again present a fine collection of James Bond 007 stories that are sure to entice readers. Although the literary Bond is back in action with Charlie Higson’s Young Bond, we are still without the 007 we all know of currently in the literary form. Now on CBn, four talented writers show that the literary Bond is back and better than ever.
As a part of an original idea for a CBn short story contest, the general rules for this collection were that several CBn members would sign up and then submit a story several months later to be considered by the judges consisting of Fenna Geelhoed (Joyce Carrington), Christopher Davies (Hawkeye), Thomas Clink (clinkeroo), Evan Willnow (Mister Asterix), and Devin Zydel (Qwerty) for the final collection. Each judge read and critiqued each story, basing their choices on what they thought most important for a James Bond fan fiction story. The result is the following collection.
CommanderBond.net presents Measure For Measure, consisting of: ‘Flight of the Executioner’ by Fraser Lomas, ‘The Rough with the Smooth’ by Andrew Hixson, ‘Measure for Measure’ by Mark Zahn, and ‘No Reason To Die’ by Matt Kriter. Enjoy.
