The year 2004 will be an exciting one if you’re a Bond fan. There will be six important film anniversaries, including such classics as 1964s Goldfinger and 1969s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Ten James Bond novels will also have an anniversary in 2004. Three written by Ian Fleming, one by Christopher Wood, four by John Gardner, and two by Raymond Benson. On January 5th, John Gardner’s stories, Licence Renewed, For Special Services, and Icebreaker, were released together in one book in the United Kingdom. In March, Ian Fleming’s Octopussy will be re-released. The Man With The Golden Gun by Fleming will be re-released in April.

Sadly, 2004 does not see the release of Bond 21 or the rumored Jinx spin-off.

Hopefully the highly anticipated release of EA’s new video game, James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing, will make up for the lack of a new film.

Three new comic strip books: The Man With The Golden Gun, Octopussy and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service will be re-released by Titan Books in February, May and June respectively.

Sean Connery will turn 74 years old this year, George Lazenby will turn 65, Roger Moore will turn 77, Timothy Dalton will turn 58 and the current James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, will turn 51. Overall 2004 will be a very eventful and exciting year for fans of the greatest fictional character ever, James Bond 007!
