‘Quantum of Solace’ Is Top-Selling Blu-ray Of 2009

Latest James Bond title tops the list as of mid-June

Halfway into 2009 and Quantum of Solace has been named the top-selling Blu-ray title of the year so far.

Blu-ray.com reports that Daniel Craig’s second James Bond film was listed as the number one title after sales figures were published today by Home Media Magazine.

Quantum of Solace was followed by The Dark Knight , Twilight, Eagle Eye and Taken.

In the overall sales category, Christopher Nolan’s phenomenally successful The Dark Knight (a 2008 release) took the top spot.

Quantum of Solace is the 22nd James Bond 007 film produced by franchise holders Eon Productions. Daniel Craig returns from 2006′s Casino Royale to play James Bond. Quantum of Solace is directed by Marc Forster and scripted by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Paul Haggis (with an additional polish by Joshua Zetumer). Locations include Panama, Chile, Italy, Austria and the UK. The MGM/Columbia Pictures production began shooting on 2 January and was released on 31 October 2008 in the UK and 14 November in the United States. The world premiere took place on 29 October in London.

Quantum of Solace co-stars Mathieu Amalric, Olga Kurylenko, Anatole Taubman, Gemma Arterton, Joaquín Cosio, Dame Judi Dench, Jesper Christensen, Giancarlo Giannini, and Jeffrey Wright.
