Earlier today marked the UK premiere of Edward Zwick’s war drama Defiance, starring Daniel Craig.
Craig, along with girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell, co-stars Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell, and other celebrities present, walked the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square in London.

In the film (based on true events), Craig, Bell and Schreiber play three Jewish brothers who escape from Nazi-occupied Poland and join Russian resistance fighters, helping to build a village to protect themselves and help others who are fleeing.
‘I knew there was some resistance,’ said Craig in an interview with MTV. ‘I’d read about pockets of resistance, but never in any detail. So when this came along, I was astounded. Once I’d read the book, learning more about it and learning how successful they were, [it] was inspiring.’
Defiance went on limited release on 31 December in the US. A wide release will follow on 9 January in the UK and on the 16th stateside.
