    Celebrated film composer John Barry will be the guest of honour at an upcoming concert in Dublin, Ireland.

    On 20 June 2008, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra will present The Film Music of John Barry. The event is set to take place at the National Concert Hall at 8:00pm and will be broadcast live on RTÉ lyric fm.

    Nicholas Dodd will conduct the orchestra while Aedín Gormley will act as presenter.

    John Barry, one of the most celebrated film composers of modern times, is guest of honour for this very special evening of his music. Presented by RTÉ lyric fm’s Movies and Musicals and hosted by Aedín Gormley, the concert features famous themes from Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Dances with Wolves, Zulu, Midnight Cowboy, Chaplin and many more. The lush strings and dramatic brass that make Barry’s music so distinctive will be heard to thrilling effect with the full might of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.
