  1. Casino Royale Helps UK '06 Box Office Match '05 Results

    By Devin Zydel on 2007-01-05

Thanks to a record breaking performance at the box office in the UK, Casino Royale has helped the UK’s 2006 box office (£840 million) match the results of the previous year.

Many bookers were wondering whether the December 2006 performance could match what Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and King Kong did in December 2005.

Daniel Craig’s first James Bond film has clearly been the center of attention, most recently leaping 40% in its seventh frame despite losing 12% of its screens.

Casino Royale‘s UK box office is currently approaching the $100 million mark, giving the film the chance to pass by by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, making it the highest grossing film of the year in the country.
