  1. Casino Royale – Sydney Premiere Details

    By Devin Zydel on 2006-12-04

CBn had previously reported that the Sydney premiere of Casino Royale would take place on 4 December 2006 and would feature Daniel Craig, Caterina Murino, and director Martin Campbell in attendance.

Details regarding the event, including video interviews with Craig, Murino, and Campbell, can now be viewed on News.com.au.

When asked about his new role as James Bond, Craig said: ‘We had the chance to try and rediscover him a little bit here and open him out. He’s a little more human, but that’s because he has to fall in love and we had to see other sides to him.’

Campbell also commented on Casino Royale, saying: ‘Had it not had the rebooting that we all felt was necessary, then I wouldn’t have done it.’

When asked how his work on Casino Royale compared with introducing Pierce Brosnan as 007 in GoldenEye, Campbell said: ‘They both work very well as their respective Bonds–they’re two totally different Bonds. I don’t think Pierce could have played Casino Royale the same way that I don’t think Daniel could have played GoldenEye. I think they both fit with their time and Daniel’s time is now.’
