London’s The Mirror has printed news on the next James Bond movie. They claim that acclaimed actor Edward Woodward (TV’s “The Equalizer”) is being lined up to play the new ‘M’ in the next 007 film currently using the working title “Beyond the Ice”. While no main plot details were mentioned, this reports indicates one of the subplots would see the retirement of the current M (Dame Judi Dench). A staff member on the production says “It was felt Edward was brilliant in The Professionals’ remake and it was decided he would fit the role of M perfectly”. It is also possible that the opening sequence will be shot in Alaska. The script is currently still being assembled with production not expected to begin till next year. – Daniel Dykes here, it would be a shame to see Dame Judi Dench leave the role of M in Bond 20 and I personally hope it does not happen, no one has commented on her role in the next Bond movie and I honestly can’t see EON to eager to replace her after her astounding performance in The World Is Not Enough.
